Big fat meh, with a small side of blech. I've been searching out mystery/crime procedurals by women with women protagonists, for examples/inspiration for my own writing. Won't be using any more Tami Hoag novels for that purpose. I read something else of hers years ago and it was okay but didn't wow me, and after this one I don't need to read any more.
