What Members Thought
I would catagorize this book as "Courtroom Thriller-Lite." I'm. usually turned off by books that put too much meat in the courtroom scenes. Legal mumbo jumbo. lawyer porn. Although the majority of the book was in a courtroom, background stories were interwoven. It was a fun story that kept me guessing until the end.

A Boston area district attorney is suddenly on the other side of the fence when his own teenage son is put on trial for murder. Landay very effectively illustrates how the judicial process can wreak havoc on a family. A fun read!
4.5 for the twist at the end. I also like legal suspense and the family dynamics give it more depth than normal.
WOW. Good book. Things you hope you never, ever have to think about as a parent. Did not see the end coming together as it did. Well played, Landay.
I almost gave this 2 stars but decided on three as this book did keep me sane during my long commute. I got frustrated with the book many times because the parents never had a meaningful conversation with their child and some of the character development was mediocre. I realize that the entire book was from the point of view of Andy, and the idea was for the reader to have doubt as to what happened, and Andy had a messed up childhood, but the book fell short for me.
