Ugh, where to begin. I mean, I already own the second book from when it was on sale ages ago, so I'm going to read it. Buuuuut. Oh man. Everyone in this book is so stupid. I can only assume they're that way to make Kelsea look smart because that is what happened.
I also wonder why she doesn't have friends named, for example, Madison and Kyleighley'ah. The name Kelsea doesn't fit very well when most of the other characters have Bible names.

I had so much fun reading this book! I'm glad I didn't read the blurb or the other reviews of the book because I might have gone in with a different attitude. I just loved the plot, loved the characters, and thought it was really really readable. It was definitely on the more mature side of the YA cannon, but was fun. I always love seeing a smart, spunky girl come into her own. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book!!

This book was excellent. I wasn't sure given the premise and the slow start, despite recommendations that the series was worth it. However, the characters are really well drawn, the worlds carefully thought out, and enough mystery to want to read Book 2 immediately. ...more
