Phenomenal writing. I spent most of the book trying to figure out what the hell I was reading. It's fairy tale-ish with amazingly strong female characters. ...more

This took me a little while to get into, but once I got into it, I was HOOKED.

Also I want to re-read it ASAP/

Also normally I kind of hate magical realism soo if I liked it, that's a really good sign.

As much as I love YA, I still can't do magical realism. I'm sure this is a lovely book for those who enjoy the genre. I was just a little cranky that this was billed as a kidnapping story and wasn't that at all. ...more
