I hate to give a generally well-written book a poor review, but Help, Thanks, Wow simply wasn't for me. I admire Lamott's openness about her own brokenness, although it does make any criticism I level feel like picking on her. I just can't relate to her. Not that we aren't all broken and struggling in some way. As a not-Christian-person, I've always been shocked at how relatable I find Lamott's religious writing. But she lost me a bit by the end of this book. I thought the introduction and "Help" were both absolutely wonderful, but "Thanks" and "Wow" petered out and I felt like I just didn't quite get them.
