I listened to the audiobook and I loved her reading voice and loved her writing until her first clunker of racism (a flippant and awful analogy using the n-word). Following this were at least a half dozen fucked up punchlines that ridiculed Asians, people with disabilities, and children in war-ravaged third world nations. I thought there were some worthwhile moments in this book, but mostly, I think it just proves the point that there's a lot left for contemporary feminists to write about. Moran's point of view was interesting but insufficiently suggestive. Keep writing, ladies! You have an audience! ...more

I'd like to actually give this book a 3 1/2 star rating. For the most part, I loved this book. It brought me back to high school when I thought I was a strident feminist... And definitely reawakened my desire to discourage this princess phase my daughter is going through... Maybe I need to teach her to say "damn you, the patriarchy!"... There were some parts I disagreed with and I think that dismissing any woman pioneers and achievement prior to the current time as basically nothing is a bit rid ...more

Don't feel like I can/should give this a star rating as I didn't finish it.

I'm sure it has lots to offer to many people, all it did for me was compel me to fetch my trusty Germaine Greer from the bookshelf and re-read. Which is in and of itself a great thing.

I liked this book, it was funny and awesome. I thought it had some really good insights, I highly recommend it for people who have a sense of humor, and are women.
