Solid 3.5 star reading experience for me, very well written and entertaining, I was compelled to keep reading. I found it a little bit difficult to maintain my suspension of disbelief. Loved the melding of science fiction with spirituality/religion, enjoy those two big areas getting tackled in an interesting way.

I struggled along through this one. Even though the story was fascinating I never felt compelled to pick it up even when I was home sick for a week.
As a native of Texas I had a hard time with the character of Yarborough (sp?). While the cadence of his language was spot on the vocabulary was not. Texans don't speak like cartoon characters. Sorry.
And that me question the other characters. They never felt real.
