This book reminded me why I try to stay away from memoirs. This genre tends to be filled with books that are full of themselves, telling navel-gazing tales meant to either incite pity or shock from the reader, often without any critical insight. This book is firmly in that category. To top it all off, it was just poorly written.

He's a former (in some cases) alcoholic transvestite homosexual in NYC.
