This book hits all my favorite things in suspense/horror: creepy houses, creepier kids, unreliable narrators, class antagonism, and malevolent women. That said, this wasn't my favorite Flynn. I'd have liked a little less time on the narrator's background and more on the action inside the house. there is a payoff but it's less satisfying than it could have been. In all, a fun novella/short story story-- easy to read in one sitting on a rainy day.
