I read another review that captured this book perfectly. Prose porn. It's a decent book, with a decent story. I went into it with the expectations that it would be an intelligent "zombie book." Intelligent? Yes. Good zombie book? No. At least, not the kind of zombie book I want to be reading in my free time. I gave the book two stars because it had potential to be that type of book. Not to brag, but I sort of consider myself a zombie fiction expert at this point and this book was not up to snuff. The writing was super wordy (really, Mr. Whitehead, why not use four words when one just won't do) and that took me out of the story quite a bit. Also, the characters were shady and mysterious, but not in a plot-advancing way, in a "look what I can do with my characters sort of way".
