I got hooked by the trailers for the Horns movie. Could be awesome, could be terrible -- one of those. But I couldn't figure out when it was going to get a wide release and I could find out. Plus it had been quite a while since I'd read anything in the horror genre, and it's Stephen King's son... So I went out and bought a copy.

It was very quickly clear that the movie is a significant departure from the book. (But I still haven't seen it.)

Why did I wait so long to read this? The story, style, and characters typify exactly what I enjoy. It was a cteative and engrossing story that I'll likely think about often, much like the stories in Strange Weather.
