This trade wasn't quite as marvelous as volume one but I still really dug it. With references to bell hooks and A League of Their Own I felt right at home in the panels.

As delightful and empowering and fun as the first volume! A super-great choice for teen girls and young adult women. Okay, really, for everybody. (How can you not love a book that uses phrases like "For the love of Sister Rosetta Tharpe"?!) I wish this had existed for Junior High/High School-aged Melissa, Amanda, Sarah, Becky, and Jodie.

I love these girls! I read these as single issues on Hoopla, waiting for them to come out as a set is too much!
Jen may be my favorite, I love how she uses black women from history or social movements as her exclamations!

Fun times. Nice to read as a break from more serious books. I love all the fake teen speak like "what the junk" (unless that is a real thing and I'm just out-of-touch?)
