Edit: On a second reading, this gets five stars. Yes, the games are in the plot again but there is so much more going on that makes the story feel much more multifaceted.

This second book reaffirmed how amazing these books are. I can't wait for August when the next comes out. Thrilling, heart-breaking, wonderful storytelling. This did feel a little like a bridge book, but I'm so excited to see where it's going!!

I actually liked this one more than Hunger Games because it started to really flesh out the world that Katniss lives in (and you started to see the parallels to Earth a little more.) Katniss is a great, realistic heroine (although at times her inability to see the bigger picture is frustrating, but it makes sense in the context of her character and she's so kick-ass in other ways it kind of doesn't matter) and give me Team Gale and Team Peeta (and, most importantly Team Katniss cause as she make
