I loved the first book of this series so much. The 2 follow-ups couldn't quite hit that high note for me, however, this series was fun, accessible, had a great plot and while being a little melodramatic and a little crazy at times (The characters change SO MUCH throughout this trilogy that it gave me a bit of whiplash), I found myself enjoying it and rooting for the characters. Definitely not a thinker. Definitely only for people who can get into witches and vampires etc. etc.

Maybe I'm just not the intended audience for this, I don't know. The thing is, I love the premise of this series. But in the end, I think the execution was just okay. The weird thing to me is that in this particular series, I think the first book is the weakest. For me, the second book was the strongest and then the end seemed a bit forced, but this trilogy did at least finish stronger than it started, which was nice since so many go downhill after the first book.

Satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. It's an entertaining story and the author can certainly keep pages turning. It's lightweight though with little character development. Also it seems like a series of loosely connected episodes more than an overall narrative. I received an advance reader's copy of this book.
