I really loved this book. It reminded me of some of John Irving's works--college campus, great characters, quirky plots that take twists and turns and eventually expose how human people can be, and the writing style was similar. The characters-Oh the characters! I found them all to be pretty compelling. I loved the broad strokes of their past and how that influenced who they were during the story. They had fabulous names, wonderful back stories, and were very well rounded.

I'm glad I read this since there was a lot of hype about it. It exceeded my expectations for a NYTimes best seller. I did like some of the characters even if I thought some acted out of character.
