I would not have guessed how compelled I could be by the thought experiment of Plato’s republic as managed by Apollo and Athena.

Apollo, Athena, and Socrates in an alternate universe setting up Plato’s Republic? Lots going on here, and that’s before mentioning the time travel, slavery, or robots. I enjoyed reading this, it was thought provoking and meditative. But almost too much so, with nothing in the plot spurring characters to have emotional responses that would be expected. (Her treatment of sexual violence was jarring in this way. Assaults seemed to matter little to anyone involved and held no consequences.) I will
