While The Whistler made me remember why I picked up John Grisham in the first place. Sycamore Row made me remember why I stopped for a while.
Not as captivating as A Time to Kill, but it could satisfy your thirst of some legal thriller setting in Ford County (Clanton), with all the usual characters: Jake Brigance, Harry Rex, Lucien, etc etc.
The story itself is about the conflict of a weird handwritten will by one of the richest men in Ford County. It's not as action packed as A Time to Kill, because this is not a criminal case. But John Grisham is really in his elements here. Pretty nice and solid read, although not his best for sure. ...more

Enjoyable, if not as original and engrossing as A Time to Kill. But if Grisham writes another Jake Brigance novel I'd certainly read it.
