Alas, due to library due dates/time management issues, I had to cram my reading of Bad Feminist into two days which really isn't enough time to reflect on all the meaty issues Roxanne Gay discusses in her essays. She had me pumping my fist in her gender section and feeling embarrassed during her race section which I think is perfect. Loved this, love her! She had me crying and laughing on the same page so often!
I am so angry with myself for not going to see her speak last year.

I wanted to like this book more than I did. I really liked some essays, and didn't like others. All of that is fine, I like to disagree with authors, particularly in a book like this. But there were a lot of essays where I just didn't see a really coherent point. I had trouble figuring out how they fit in with the overall theme of the book, or even just why they would be in a book (mostly all the essays that were film/book critiques).
