I read the book in just over one sitting, so it was an enjoyable read. I quickly settled into the world of Hogwarts again and I enjoyed a new generation of characters. I was so reluctant to read this - I had nearly as much dread as I'd had for Go Set a Watchman. But Matt reminded me how much I'd loved GSAW, and graciously read it first to let me know if I should read it. (That was the only reason he read it first, I'm sure...Surely he didn't have any self-serving interests in the matter.)

I'm glad I read it. It didn't rock my world, but I do think it did a good job of keeping to the spirit of books while completely changing the focus away from the now-adult cha

Perfect little icing on the cake for the Harry Potter series. In some ways I liked the play structure better (made for a much quicker read). Dying to see the play in London now of course!

I'd give this a 3.5. I was so very excited to hear from some of my favorite characters, but the focus is definitely on the next generation. It was a thoughtful and fun plot, but since it's a play, the characters felt a bit flat at times--and even relied on our knowledge of the adults to pull the plot along. I loved Albus and Scorpious, and I really liked the adult reconciliation between Malfoy and the gang, but it just wasn't quite *there* for me.

I ran right through this book and didn't mind one

Oh Harry, Hermione, and Ron - how I have missed you. How wonderful to see you again (now so grown up! And so much more complex for all your life experience!) and dive back into JK Rowling's universe. Now I just want more, more, more.
