I love the concept of this book, the atmosphere and world building. I wish I'd felt closer to the characters and that the second half of the book had been tighter.

There’s a great story in this novel, but it’s drowning in the constant ruminations that come from every character POV. And the last bit sets up for a very complex ending that doesn’t pay off.
I enjoyed the narrator and found the premise interesting but after the action moved away from the boys' school, I started to lose interest.
