3.5 because I think it's a fabulous little book for the right reader but it's not really my kind of thing. Grunhilda the Black Heart inherited a nice little potions shop from the ancestors, but nobody wants potions anymore, so Grunhilda is out of a job. An enchanting (pun intended), darkly humorous little tale of a witch named Grunhilda (of course) in need of work. Grunhilda crosses paths with an elementary-aged nemesis and finds herself in danger of angering her witch ancestors. Fun, ugly in the best way, and appealing to elementary kids' humor and maturity -- a delight for childless old hags, too!
