Fantastic, engrossing, impeccably written epic.
In addition to being a wonderful story, I learnt so much about Korean-Japanese relations and history.

I can’t imagine reading this 600+ page book. Listening to it at 1.75x still took over 10 hours! The first half was more interesting and engaging. Whereas the second half seemed to be a rushed “where are they now?” segment. This is a beautifully written book for fans of historical fiction. But too long for a more casual reader like myself.
