I named my dog Daisy. Some days I say I named her after Daisy Miller, some days for Daisy Buchanan. Yes, I'm a lit geek. Reading Lolita in Tehran is a book custom made for lit geeks like me.
Lucky for me I've read Lolita, Gatsy (numerous times), Daisy Miller, Washington Square, and all of Austen. I'm not sure this book would be all that meaningful if I had not read them. Makes me want to read some of the classics I've yet to read while giving equal attention to how women's rights and lifestyles changed in Iran in the 80s.

Didn't quite get through the whole book - got a little too heady at times for me although definitely an interesting memoir on Iran.
