I'm not super into graphic novels, so it took me a long time to cotton on to Lumberjanes, but this first installment is pretty great! I especially like the egalitarian treatment of all the girls as characters-- there isn't really a ringleader; they operate as a team with different people taking the lead at different times according to their strengths. I loved this! I'm getting some comic recommendations from other members of an online book club I'm in, and this one was terrific. The story centers on a group of five girls at summer camp, and it's full of girl-power-mischief and magical stuff. It's badass and fun and all-the-feels all at once - I really liked it and the only reason I'm not powering through the whole series right now is because too many other people want to read it and I'm on a 6-week hold list at the library for the second one.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the Lumberjanes. I totally wish me and my buddies were like these girls. I personally love Ripley the most (FASTBALL SPECIAL!!!!). I will be adding "What the junk" to my vocabulary. I must immediately get the next one.
