I love Marquez. He is among my favorite five authors - maybe my absolute favorite, though he may be tied with Steinbeck - and this book, though not one of his more famous works, was still masterfully-written, filled with social commentary, and magical in the way that all his books are. I'm really loving this book. I made my first pass entirely, and am now going back for round two with the dictionary more faithfully by my side. This book asks so many questions about crime, identity, memory.

I really loved this book. García Márquez gets a lot across with a simple style.
