Well damn. This is an amazing story in this time and profound for the 1940’s.

I had planned to stop by the library on my way home from work and pick up Native Son. About 5 minutes before leaving a co-worker told me that a postal worker had been shot one block from my library. I knew that the area would be surrounded by police and media. Should I go to the library or wait? Luckily all the drama had ended by the time I arrived at the library. A few police officers, lots of yellow tape, and television news crews were all that remained.
