Giving this book a rate was really difficult. It isn't a strong and flawless book, but at the same time I wasn't able to put it down after reading one third of it. Plus it was a very enjoyable read. It was so easy imagining myself as being Georgie, knowing Seth or even Neal.all three of them are so real and could be us or any of our friends. ...more

Sadly, my least favorite of her books by far -- and I was so looking forward to this! I LOVE things involving time travel and I love the way RR does relationships.
Luckily that part still worked: the build-up of her early relationship with Neal was by far the best part of the book for me. Unfortunately, the book utterly failed to convince me of its premise that (spoilers from here on) (view spoiler) ...more

I love Rowel's writing! I heard so many mixed reviews of this book, that 90% through it I was still telling myself I wasn't going to like it. I had some moments of hate for Georgie and Neil and I had moments were they made me smile, where I wanted to talk for hours on the phone with them. Overall I really enjoyed the story, maybe it is because I am coming up on my twelfth anniversary but I could kind of relate to how you can have so much love for your partner but still not realize when you make

It's interesting to see the different ratings on this book, but it was just not for me.
The story seems monotonous. Just one even level of an uninteresting marriage. No highs, no lows. I don't think I reacted in anyway the entire time I was listening to this. Except when Georgie would speak with her youngest in "meows".... ugh. Annoying. The main character and her two supporting characters are so unlikeable. Georgie is depressing and a whiner. I questioned whether she actually loved her husband, ...more

Sometimes you read a book at the exact right time to have an emotional response. For me, right now was such a time for this book. I loved it, it made me cry and smile and laugh. I can't say I particularly loved Georgie and Neal, but their story touched me.

I am a huge fan of Rainbow Rowell, but I didn't love Landline. I just couldn't connect with the characters OR the story, and even though I usually love a supernatural element, in this one it just didn't work for me. Disappointing!
