I cannot get enough of Sarah Addison Allen and despite this book having just come out in the last 7 months, I'm already desperate for some new material from her.

Her books are such a beautiful mixture of whimsy and family and sweet Southern comfort. Her books make me want to lay in the grass on a picnic blanket in the muggy heat of a Southern state with some lemonade and a stack of good books.

Her books leave me feeling lighter and peaceful and they always leave me with a smile. ...more

On a recent wishlist I wrote for a Top Ten Tuesday feature, one of my wishes was for more magical realism. This closely ties into my love of folklore and mythology and that wish was satisfied (for a short time at least) with Sarah Addison Allen's newest beautiful story, Lost Lake. When you read Sarah Addison Allen's books there's a suspension of belief that you have to just go with to feel the magic. It usually subtle, though this book asks you to take a big leap. With some authors, I might roll my eyes and say "whatever," but she weaves a tale filled will characters that are just so darn likable, you want to wrap yourself up in that magic and see where the ride takes you.
