I've read a good number of Picoult's more recent works and am working my way through her older catalog, but I don't feel that this one is one of her better books. It felt very disjointed, with one of the main characters, Rebecca, telling the story in reverse, while all of the other perspectives are told going forward with some retrospection you expect in a book. I did enjoy when 2 points of view were in synchronicity, where the 'chapter' starts with the same introduction but readers get to learn

I don't even know what to say about this book. Meh. I didn't feel like any of the characters were very well-developed, consistent or believable. Joley totally creeped me out. There were editing errors in the book and that always rips me right out of the story. I just kept wondering "what's the point?" as I read. This was the first Jodi Picoult book that I didn't read in less than two days - I am not sure why I couldn't really get into it. It was still OK, but not one of my favorites.
