I loved this book. Isaacson had unusual access to this very private genius. Although I don't think I would have liked Steve Jobs and definitely wouldn't have been able to work for him, I now can begin to appreciate the work, engineering and thought that went into the computers that I have owned (and taken for granted) since 1994 or so. Isaacson's bio of Jobs also describes the growth of computers from tools used only by geeks in labs to machines that are increasingly necessary to our lives today ...more

What can I say other than, i loved this book. The author does a fantastic job of telling Steve jobs whole story - while not boring you or weighing you down with too much. What a life this man has had! I really loved this book. It was so neat to see how his designs and his products impact everything in our lives. He will be sorely missed by many. I would have given this book 5 stars if it ended 200 pages earlier. I was fascinated by the story; who wouldn't like to know what was happening in the room when the iPod came to be? Author did a great job of making things like computer chips interesting.

This book was such a huge time commitment, and you really have to be interested to stay engaged for the whole thing. all this said, i really really liked it! ...more
