I first read this book when I was in the 9th Grade and have lost count of the number of times I have since read it . It is amazing how one can love a character so dislikeable. Scarlett is such a brat but she's right up there with Jo March as one of my favorite book characters.

I'm incredibly late to the party. I remember as a young teenager attempting to check this book out and being discouraged from it because it held some really mature themes, and I can understand now why- I wouldn't have understood it.

Quite possibly the best book I've ever read (and ever will read). Amazing detail and two of the best characters ever written.

A woman I work with told me I should read this and gave me a copy several years ago. She said that I had to read it that summer. As things often go, I got busy and never picked it up.
