I've been obsessed with retold fairy tales since, oh, early elementary school. These are NOT for elementary schoolers, but they're fantastic: dark, gorgeous, horrifying, scintillating, gory, smart, feminist, and really really well written. I usually don't like short fiction that much, but this is definitely my favorite collection of short stories. Mostly dark and sometimes surprisingly sweet, these are the best fairytales out there (in my not-so-humble opinion). ...more
