When I first picked up this book I knew several friends had enjoyed it. I don't know what I was expecting, but it certainly surpassed any expectations I might have had.

As I read the book I became more and more engrossed in the amazement I felt that the author was able to write the book with the rules he had imposed upon himself. This book is immensely silly, incredibly clever, and endlessly enjoyable. It also makes me start writing weird things, like "endlessly enjoyable." I can only imagine how much fun Dunn had with writing this (and how equally frustrating it must have been!!) This is a short, quick, fun read; there's no reason not to read it, and so many reasons to read it!! I hope it is being assigned in high school English classes around the world, because I can only imagine how much fun a classroom would have wit ...more

I loved this novel. It can be read and enjoyed very superficially but can also be looked at in a deeper way...an examination of how a police state could come about. Quite fresh and clever.
