Uhmmm... I expected more than this, actually. The premise is pretty interesting- about an old woman who is having dementia and losing her memory day by day.. But she's troubled because of her best friend Elizabeth who is missing, and that reminds her of her own sister who was missing after the World War II.

So the story is basically a double mystery- that connects the mystery from Maud's past and the current mystery she has, and how she tried to solve both mysteries when her memories is declining ...more

I really enjoyed this book. Maud is losing her memory, and often gets confused. Some things like her friend Elizabeth, stick in her mind. She often wrote notes to herself, and around the house like "dont cook". I can see me doing that myself....

Will Elizabeth be found?

During the story, we also learn that Sukey, Maud's sister, also is missing.

I enjoyed how the book focused on now, and also the past, memories of when Maud was younger.

Again a really enjoyable book. ...more

Hmmm...I read this very quickly, so I know the plot was interesting enough, but by the time I got to the end I was tired of waiting to find out what had happened to Elizabeth, and when I did, I didn't feel like it was very exciting. I felt like the author could have done a lot more with the two story lines. ...more
