How much do I love this book. I recently revisited it and had the experience of reading it out loud to my nephew (7) and niece (5). I hadn't read it for quite a few years and, although I still know the story well, there were parts of the book that had faded with the passing of time and were brought back to life with the re-reading of the book, as tends to happen.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was one of my favorite books as a child. I read it over and over again, and found the book to be rich and beautiful. When I read it again as an adult, I found the magic was missing. I found it short and far too brief. Maybe that is the magic of the book - the book that is so amazing to a child doesn't necessarily have to stand up to an adult's reading.

ONLY the BBC version of this book is better than the book itself. The Disney movie was sub-par. The book, however, is fun and clever.
