**2015 Reading Challenge W/Josh: #32 A Trilogy**
I loved this trilogy!
I loved this trilogy!

This was a pretty good conclusion to the series as a whole, but I felt the ending was kind of vague and unsatisfying. As a matter of fact, an hour and a half after I'd finished the book, after I ran some errands and while I was washing dishes in the kitchen, I couldn't even remember what the ending was. That's how low-key and kind of vague it was.
That being said, there were a lot of issues that were solved, a lot of questions answered, and a fair amount of secrets revealed. Gwen and Gideon and ...more

This was the strongest of the three. Just as with Ruby, there are mysteries to solve and powers to learn, but unlike Sapphire, I didn't find myself annoyed with people intentionally hiding things from Gwen. The opposite, really - a lot of people gave her information in this book, and the info-hiders didn't play as big a part here.
The conclusion was satisfying, but maybe a bit too ... HEA.

Ruby Red trilogy, book three.
This is a light and breezy YA fantasy romance with a lot of time-traveling adventure. Though the events in the trilogy take place over a two week period, it seems longer because of the constant jumping back and forth in time. I enjoyed almost every character except for Gwen and Gideon. The insta-love annoyed me. The ending ties everything up in a nice, neat bow with no random plot threads left hanging.
I liked it, but didn’t love it.
