Tennessee Williams' Southern tragicomedy revolves around Big Daddy, who is celebrating his 65th birthday and dying of cancer, and his son Brick, who is an alcoholic and married to Maggie (the Cat). The play is full of dark undertones...greed, homophobia, treatment of women, addiction, aging, death, adultery, and the emotional lies which can govern relationships within families...and can be read multiple times with satisfaction.
