It was all I could do to finish this.
Frank Lloyd Wright and Mamah Borthwick Cheney, each married with children, have an affair that sends shockwaves through their families and through Chicago society. I thought this was good, but I wished it was more about Frank. I knew the basics of the story, but it was nice to be able to fill in the blanks (even though it was fictionalized). And wow, what an ending. I knew how it ended and it still shocked me!
Loved this. I never knew all that much about FLW, as far as his personal life. So this was really interesting to learn more about his family and his affair with Mamah. I was really surprised by the ending. Shows you how much I know...
I'm not sure how to review this book - and it's hard to rate a book in which you were annoyed with the main characters for most of the time. Good writing and interesting story, though.
