What Members Thought
This book pulls you in with heart wrenching circumstances from the get-go. The descriptions of the island, the lighthouse, and the dwellings there were magnificent and kept you wanting more. The details put into setting up a scene were very good, though there were times when you wanted to say, "get to the point!" instead of slogging through another backstory. I just don't get the love for this. Some poor overwrought prose, annoying characters, tragedy that didn't even read as tragedy... Ugh.
