Stephen King is a hit-or-miss author for me. I enjoyed The Shining (but still haven't worked up the gumption to watch the movie), but It fell flat. I read Under the Dome and it infuriated me (stereotypes of any sort do that to me) but The Green Mile made me weep with sympathy. It was only because I enjoyed my time reading The Shining that I decided to pick up Doctor Sleep from the library. The result? Well.. keep reading!

A follow up to the most frightening novel I've read in my entire life--from when I first snuck it from my mom's bookshelf and read it under my covers as a young teen? Yes, please!

What a great follow-up to a classic King novel. I loved that some old characters came back and thoroughly enjoyed meeting the new ones. I'll be honest, there was a period of time when I didn't really like King's novels and stories but I can safely say that time has come to an end. The King is back!

I would have given this 4.5 stars if I could. The sequel to The Shining, this book follows Danny as he becomes Daniel and deals with the demons that follow him into adulthood. He "meets" a young girl with a very strong shining and who is being hunted by a troupe of "people" who feed off children with the shining.
