This book is a very good account of the factors leading to the rapid spread of the deadly influenza pandemic in 1918-1919 with a lot of interesting history about medicine and scientific research thrown in. It is also interesting, and unsettling, to be reading about the lengths that Wilson went to prevent the dissemination of information regarding the virus (and the lack of funding/support for dealing with it) while we are currently seeing similar things at the federal level with the spread of CO

This was just a fabulous book. You wouldn't think so because of the subject, but it was really easy to follow and it mixed history with personal experiences by some of the doctor's journals. Very cool.
