Sad, but yet somehow delightful.
While the mystery in this book is easily unraveled, especially as a bit more information is given, the storytelling was pretty great.
The story of three generations of women - a nod to The Secret Garden, short - but wonderful fairy tales.. this book contains it all. Highly recommended if you enjoy the more gothic, literary-type mysteries.

I read Kat's review and decided not to read this book.
But then I changed my mind and I’m glad I did.
The story was slow to start and honestly if you look at the reviews there is something weird where things repeat. But. It’s like I needed that repetition to keep a few things in mind.
It’s not a five star book. Except for me it is. Because the Secret Garden was one of my most favorite books as a child and this answers the unanswered questions in that book. A childhood book so innocent turned dark ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this- great characters and an intriguing story. 4.5 if we could!
