I think this is the best installment in the series out since it hit 10 or so. Really solid and entertaining. The cast of secondary characters in this one is exceptional, from Brenda to Moonman. Lula is in stellar form as she plans for a wedding. Grandma Mazur gets a new hobby. And Stephanie and Morelli seem to be moving further down Commitment Road — poor Ranger! Overall, I loved it. Also, this is the first of the numbered books I’ve listened to on audio, and I believe that will be my preferred ...more

this is classic Evanovich. There's a sense of the growing inevitability of Joe and Stephanie ending up together, and that makes me happy. the potato cannon element was funny. Nothing really new or revolutionary about this book, when read in context with all the other Plum novels (except for maybe the absense of spicy sex scenes in this one). and yet, once I got started, I couldn't put it down 'til it was finished. If you liked the rest of the series, you'll like this one. ...more

I still enjoy the series, but my interest is waning. I used to buy each book in hardcover when it first came out, but I wound up borrowing this one and will wait to buy my copy until it's on the discount shelves. The jokes are starting to seem a little repetitive and Stephanie Plum herself seems to be getting tired of her job. I think it's about time for Evanovich to wrap up the series - end on a high note.

I hate reading the newest Janet Evanovichs because I tear through them in an afternoon and then it's done and what do you mean I have to wait 'til next year for 15?

But this one was really good, a big step forward (or step back to form) from the most recent couple. A+ good times, would re-read again when I pick it up used in paperback next year.

I love Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series (but not her other books), and #14 didn't disappoint. It's funny and fresh. I admire Evanovich's ability to keep the stories coming without ever getting boring or overdone. I'm only sad that I have to wait another year now for a new helping of Steph, Morelli, Ranger, Lula and the crew. :-) ...more

Typical of the Numbers mystery series: fun, goofy, and slightly irreverent, but never very serious. Fourteen is even less serious than many of them, which was fine, because I was in the mood for some reliably mindless entertainment.

These books are *such* a guilty pleasure. I don't know that there is any literary value here - just an entertaining read that makes me laugh out loud and blush a bit. I'm sure I'll keeping reading them as long as they are being published. ...more
