I really enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down. I avoided real life so that I could keep reading. I stayed way too late so I could finish it.

I don't know why it's not shelved as a romance at my library; maybe because it's not a typical romance. It's more of a Shakespearean tragic romance. Kind of a Tristan and Isolde romance, but no kings and no potions, and a lot of other stuff is different too.

ARC from the publisher. 3.5 stars. There are a lot of these books now, two stories in different time periods, connected in some way. This is a good one, better than Willig's latest 'Pink Carnation' books. Both stories flow well, with interesting characters and mysteries to be solved. Imogen is an especially intriguing woman and her story is the strength of the book. ...more
