Daniel knows that he's different; most teens don't get "zaps" while doing their math homework. Or walking down the hall at school. Or trying to go to bed at night. It's hard to explain, so Daniel doesn't tell anyone what's going on inside his head and how debilitating it is to fix things so that it's okay for him. But then he befriends Sara, and they embark on solving mysteries about Sara's family -- and about Daniel's undiagnosed OCD.

Daniel is battling OCD. He also is playing football in spite of his hatred towards it to please his father. Additionally, Daniel is writing a book and going through the throes of his first crush. Having lived with someone with this disease, a lot of the OCD details hit home for me. This book could work for older kids or for teens.
