3.5 stars. I received this book as a review copy from the publishers.
What can I say? I was intrigued by Holly's story. I remember catching a few episodes of The Girls Next Door and being curious about what things were really like in the mansion. Holly answers a lot of those questions, and more.
Her story starts when she was growing up in Oregon and Alaska, but she doesn't linger there long. Holly knows people are reading for the dirt on the Playboy mansion and Hugh Hefner, so she moves to her li ...more

I had been meaning to read this ever since it came out way back in, I guess what? 2015? Yes, now that I've checked, it was 2015. My ex-boyfriend, Mark, and I, we used to enjoy watching The Girls Next Door because it was a fun little reality show. Sure, it was scripted, but it wasn't tawdry and full of awful yelling and terrible people like the Real Housewives franchises. It was cute!

I read some of the reviews here midway through the book, curious at how people were viewing this...I think some were way to hard on her. I think she spends a lot of time trying to justify her decisions, which by no means she owes to anyone but herself. She's had her ups and downs, like all of us do...I'm happy things have landed in a good place for her. It was a long read, but I think a good read.

I read this. DON'T JUDGE ME, OKAY. In college, my roommate and I used to watch The Girls Next Door while eating McDonald's breakfast on Sunday mornings. It was our guilty pleasure show. I saw this on a sale table at Barnes & Noble and couldn't stop myself. This book could have done with a better editor/ghost writer who could tease some introspection into Holly Madison. I can't help but think the reality is far more twisted still than what made it into this poorly written and edited book.

I read this book in a few days. An easy read but I was really curious about her time at the Playboy mansion. I used to watch "Girls Next Door" and it seemed like a fairy tale. Come to find out it really wasn't. This book made me sad and upset. But it was eye-opening. Went back to watch old episodes of the show...see it differently now.

I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed this book. I liked the girls on Girls Next Door and thought the whole life was crazy and interesting. So I enjoyed the behind the scenes look.
