The Mapping of Love and Death was a fantastic look into the lifestyle of early 20th century folks in England. Maisie Dobbs provided me with enough wit, strength of character and humor to make me a fan, even without knowing the back story of her character in the previous 6 books.

Well, this just dragged on and on. Seriously had to fight to finish it.

Sherlock Holmes takes on American Mary Russell as his apprentice in detection and they solve a kidnapping together. They also fall in love. King does a superb job of recreating the feel of Conan Doyle's writing style. I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery.
