What Members Thought

An autobiography of an important and courageous woman, written in a straightforward but not especially artful manner, and ably narrated for the audiobook version. Recommended for the story it's telling about community activism and standing up for justice in the face of danger and bad government.

Dr. Wangari Maathai is such an inspiration. Her story is interesting, extremely well-written and intelligent. I loved the way she covered Kenya's history, the changes in the environment, social customs, etc., as she told her own story. Her life's work is so important and is really what all of us, if we had the courage, should be doing.
