This was kind of like one of those bad movies that everyone collectively decides are good because they're about how we're all interconnected (see: Paris, Je T'aime; Babel; Crash; et al.). Because it was basically all of those movies, there were some sections (I'm going to call them long short stories, because thinking of them that way made me less bothered by the book as a whole) that were actually quite good. Disparate lives intersect as a result of an unusual event in NYC, Philippe Petit's Aug. 1974 tightrope walk between the Twin Towers. I loved how this random blip in the history books is used to frame and connect the unique stories/lives of the characters.

It had great potential, the first section hooked me, the second lost me, the rest ended up making it just ok.
