Well, this was immensely disappointing. I so wanted to like this. I love dark retellings and people have been telling me to read Henry's books for years. This was just so grim, so much violence against women, and not even done in a way that felt had any kind of purpose to the story other than to create this nightmare hellscape for our main characters to literally chop their way through.
